About the program: This program is designed to assist violent crime victims primarily through the court system by offering accompaniment to court, by providing information on their cases, assisting in filing charges and obtaining protective orders, informing them of their rights as victims and offering crisis intervention and emotional support. Victim Advocates does not give legal advice or provide long-term therapy. When necessary, referrals are made to agencies which provide these services.
