About the program: PAS is a process which consists of an
application, a comprehensive assessment, a plan of care, and a decision on
appropriate care for individuals considering nursing home placement. By state law,
all persons admitted to a nursing facility must participate in PAS. It was designed
to provide anyone considering a nursing facility with the opportunity to explore
in-home and community-based services as a way to stay at home.
