About the program: The mission of Gateway Health Clinic is to
provide primary medical care, work-related physical examinations, and school and
athletic physical examinations and immunizations for low-income residents of
Delaware County who meet the eligibility requirements of not having a private
physician, insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
Through the support of the United Way and the volunteer efforts of physicians
and other health-care providers, all Gateway Services are rendered free of charge.
Necessary medications are distributed without cost. Laboratory and x-ray services,
donated by local pathologists and radiologists, are provided without charge to the
patient. As a participant in the Federal Vaccines for Children Program and in
conjunction with the Indiana State Department of Health, Gateway Health Clinic
offers free immunization to any child, regardless of income.
