What is United Way of Delaware County?
United Way of Delaware County is a local, independent, non-profit organization that has been supporting human service programs in this community for more than 69 years. Its mission is "to provide leadership in developing and coordinating resources which enhance the general welfare of the citizens of Delaware County." It funds selected programs at 28 participating agencies with funds raised through an annual community campaign. A volunteer Board of Directors governs United Way of Delaware County and hundreds of volunteers serve in a variety of programs and activities.
What your contribution will buy:
$50 will allow a person with a disability to borrow a wheelchair for 12 weeks.
$100 will provide a week of participation in a specialized, day activity program for a memory-impaired, older adult, including important weekly respite (relief) time for the family care giver.
$150 will provide shelter services for women, children, and victims of domestic violence.
$200 will provide food, shelter, clothing, and other crucial items for two child or adult disaster victims.
